Each year's passing gives me a little more to think about and do. The faces in magic are changing, yet the face of magic hasn't changed one bit.

There seems to be a growing trend towards quick and fast fixes - hit and run styles with less eloquence and more shock factor. I'm not sure about this particular movement though - some of the performers are so bizzare that I get turned off before they even start their performance. Is this another trend towards being different for the sake of being different? What's your take on this?

On the flip side, it's not healthy for us to sit and watch things happen either. At this point in time, I'm just a small fish swimming in a HUGE ocean of predatory fish; quite an adventure I must say: I look forward to the surprises and challenges of 2012.
